Aristophanes wrote Frogs in 405BC. 2417 years later, I am bringing to the world the stop-motion animated version of this classic work.

At 24 frames per second, this half-hour adaptation involved over 150 hours of work and a great deal of cake. No frogs were harmed in the making of this production. In Frogs, Dionysus (the god of wine and theatre) and his slave Xanthias, dissatisfied with the political and moral state of Athens, set off to the underworld to retrieve Euripedes the tragic poet in the hopes that he can restore some degree of order to the city.

Sequences from the film can be seen below, along with photographs of the filming process.
